[DeTomaso] “Correct” muffler tip position

All,

Monday I am having a shop remove both S shaped muffler pipes, with the two goals being -
—-fresh piping with minimal clearance dimpling 
—-and correctly re-positioned mufflers and their tips

I will be installing Kirk’s mini bumpers tight to the body but do not want to change to upswept tips. 

My impression is when viewed from the rear all four tips should define a single horizontal line parallel to the ground.

 And when viewed from above all four tips should define a single straight line crossing the chassis center line at 90°.

With mufflers centered in the valance openings. 

Have I missed anything?

Have I gotten anything wrong?

Or is this pretty much the correct method?
