Thanks Larry, I see Temblitz even list it for a Pantera as well! They have options for alternate wheels and to be honest their $139 price for the hub and Grant GT Sport wheel isn't crazy anyway.

As far as welding on a quick disconnect there are potentially a couple options to explore if one is so inclined;

Firstly, one small correction that allows making a replacement shaft easier; the collapsible tube section is a lower piece connected to the upper column via a u-joint, the column itself a single shaft with splined ends either end with the unique steering wheel Mk1 Capri upper spline and a 9/16 - 36 lower spline.

Thus, it might be possible to find a long upper shaft for welding the quick disconnect to with the correct 9/16 36-spline u-joint end to make a new column and not wreck the oem one. If it is slightly different in OD one could make new upper and lower bronze bushings for the column housing. Alternatively short spline shafts are available you can weld to a blank shaft.

Scott at SACC Restorations must have solved the column problem at some point as his power steering kit comes with a new steering column integrated to the EPAS unit.

Rich,

Yes, it appears you could do that but of course you would destroy an 0EM steering wheel because the hub, collapsible tube and steering wheel are all part of a single piece.

By the time it is cut off and modified to accept a bolt-on or welded-on adapter, you could probably buy the splined hub and a steering wheel from teamblitz— without destroying an OEM wheel.
