[DeTomaso] aluminum head removal update, maybe

On a similar vein. . .
The practice for bottoming studs on heavy equipment was to put in a "soft" disk so the stud end would not compress on the casing bottom. This helps keep more threads in tension and reduces the break away friction when removing.

Would that be an engine builder's practice also?

 Dan,
Is this difficulty in pulling the heads common when head studs are used or is there another factor? Should some anti-seize product be applied to the studs?
Ken
