[DeTomaso] Interesting Article on Pollution from gas vs electric vehicles

Um, this is not what it seems.

Dr. Tilak Doshi not only works for petroleum producers, he works for the king of Saudi Arabia. He's a Senior Research Fellow at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Forbes rewrote his bio, calling him an economist who "worked in the oil and gas sector”, trying to make him sound like some kind of neutral researcher. Forgive me if I don’t take this article particularly seriously. He sounds like the doctors back in the ‘50s who were paid to promote all the medical benefits of smoking.

Our cars are fun and yes, they use a lot of gas. But they are vanishingly rare, no more are being made, and we don’t drive them much compared to our daily drivers. I’m not too worried about the impact our cars have, but on the other hand, we sure don’t need this kind of propaganda muddying up the waters.
