[DeTomaso] Stock steering wheel removal question

Dennis,

First, spray liberally with penetrant like PB Blaster. (Be sure to have something underneath to prevent dripping on the carpet).

The center of the shaft has a divot which will accept the end of a pointed punch. Have Liz sit in the seat and apply steady pulling pressure to pull the wheel towards her. Use a hammer and punch and give the shaft a few stout whacks and it will likely pull right off.

Don’t get too exuberant with your backswing or you will knock her teeth out, and that’s unlikely to end well....:)
