[DeTomaso] Our New Garage Build

Good morning Doug.

Yup - we live in a neighborhood with an HOA, so the new structure (we call it a carriage house) will pretty much match the existing look. That being said, we want to go with glass paned garage doors, so the existing doors will also be replaced.

We have a 10 foot ceiling in our existing garage - which, while it sounds like a lot, it isn't. So, I opted for 14 feet in the new garage., which matches the required height for the retaining wall. Seeing the retaining wall forms makes it clear that 14 feet is pretty darned tall. As in, are we building a drive in movie screen???

The carriage house will be a stand alone structure with an enclosed bridge connecting it to the existing house.

Steve,
What a great idea for the driveway/land situation you have. The Aerial shots really show the true scope of this project.
Will you be finishing the sides and roof to blend in with the house or will it have its own architectural look?
And how high will the rear retaining wall have to be?
