I can see where a scissor lift would have its' advantages, but I've had a
QuickJack setup for over a year and couldn't be happier. They are a bit
heavy, true, but when you lift from one end, the rollers on the other make
it quite easy to move them around, and there is nothing in the way on the
garage floor when the car is out of the garage, unlike a scissor lift with
ramps on either side. I have the pump and hoses stored in a rolling cart in
the garage (everything I can I've put wheels or castors on in my garage) and
it takes all of 5 minutes to hook everything up and have the car nearly two
feet off the floor. Per their recommendations, I do brace either end with a
fixed jackstand if I plan to be under the car, but once you have the car
lifted, you can disconnect the hydraulic hoses and put them away so nothing
is left to trip over.

Quickjack is another Chinese product (under the Bendpak name), I had heard
despite looking so, they are not that portable being cumbersome and heavy.
Why not get a much more versatile full on scissor lift for similar money? I
have one and made a couple full length ramps to be able to clear the lift
with the race car, but now I can also just park any car over it, so no loss
of garage space.

you know I would like to buy American not Chinese but it seems we currently
do not have a choice.
I have bought American name brand and it is labeled made in China.
So I agree to buy the best Jack Stand.
The question is who makes American quality not don't buy Harbor Freight.
