[DeTomaso] Battery Cable Ends, OK to solder?

The key to crimping is the right tool.
Unfortunately to do heavy gauge i.e. 4ga and bigger, the tool can get expensive.
Hydraulic is the best way.
I have a mandrel setup to do 00 for trucks that use a BFH and has worked well on my off-road vehicles for 35+ years.
Crimped properly, the lug and cable literally fuse.

Probably not something the automobile industry wants. I would venture to guess the cost of soldering each and every connection would be labor intensive and cut into their bottom lines. Paul
