[DeTomaso] Spreader bar

Measuring for a 'hard' spreader bar dimension doesn't work well because -1- all Pantera monococques are made up of numerous weldments that vary right out of the factory weld jigs (of which there were several, further complicating things). It doesn't take much relaxation to cause severe rear tire camber changes and odd wear patterns.
-2- All Panteras that have been driven have 'moved' a little in all planes as engine torque is absorbed, spot-welds relax, etc. The cornering and acceleration/braking forces involved are very high. A hard length also doesn't work for the same reasons when upgrading the lower crossmember below the engine for a removable assembly to make oil pan r & r simpler.
In the case of the spreader bar, numerous adjustments may be needed over the years; in the case of the factory-upgrade lower rear crossmember, shims may be needed to tightly fit between the lower frame rails of any particular car, to maintain a certain camber for wheel alignment, once all factory adjustments are used up.

Agree! Looking good
While on the subject of Spreader Bar,
just wondering if any one measures the spread between the upper arm or shock pivots to adjust.

I think it looks very nice and major improvement over stock.

Good Day All:
I never liked the “raw” ends of the spreader bar so I made some covers.
This is first try. I will fine tune another set but I am please with first go around.
