Keep in mind that in order to remove the fuel tank both the engine and transaxle must be removed first.  This was how my 9 year restoration project started.  As things are removed you find yourself in "well since I've gone this far I might as well..." and you remove even more until it's to the point that you have completely disassembled everything.  Bob Reid

   Fuel Tank Repair / Replace

Thanks to everyone who offered advice on my fuel tank problem in the 87

AmeriSport GT5S. I plan to proceed using all the info provided. First
   to

remove the tank then apply the advice and options.

I have no mechanical abilities nor equipment so I'll need to hire a
   shop.

Is there anyone out there near New Orleans or Pensacola who has
   experience

with Panteras and could accomplish the project. I can trailer the car
   with

no problem. I am a member of the Space City club but have never been
   able to

   get to Houston.

Thanks Much All and Any Additional Advice or Suggestions will be

   Appreciated,
