               Thanks for the tip.  I am very impressed with Nittos
seventeen inch tire size options.  They cover the niche that Kumho used to
occupy.  Good choice in sizes and tread and rubber compound.

Chuck,

You might want to consider the Nitto NT01 as well. It's really just a Toyo
R888 with a more "streetable" tread pattern. This isn't surprising since
Toyo owns Nitto. They do not make a 245/40-17 in the NT01 but they do make a
235/40-17 which is .3" shorter and .39" narrower. They also make a 315/35-17
in the NT01.  

Singer, the Porsche tuner, offers the NT01 as an option, for people who
rarely drive their cars in the rain.
