[DeTomaso] Is door "vent" window tempered or safety?

FWIW, all glass has a micro-layer of water adhered to its surfaces. So you first scrupulously clean the glass, dry it with alcohol and finally use an adhesive that will displace the remnant water, to get decent adhesion. Note the water layer will recreate itself from moisture in the air, quite rapidly.  When I was doing chemistry for a living for NASA, I found that the amount of adhesion we could get depended directly on how long a person took in cleaning and drying the glass. I believe that's why there.s so much variability in results of glued mirrors. If you don't want to take chances, you bolt things together!

Tempered.
What kind of mirrors are you thinking about? Have you ruled out using
glue? I've had good service using glue.

I am thinking of mounting outside mirrors by drilling holes in the
door "vent" windows.
I can do this with a diamond core drill if they are laminated safety
glass.
I can't do this if they are tempered.
The windows should be marked as to being either AS1 or AS2.
AS2 would be tempered.
AS1 would be laminated safety glass.
My 2511 vent windows are 700 miles way.
Can someone please check their vent glass to find the AS1 or AS2
mark?
Thanks,
Larry
