[DeTomaso] oiling main mods

Dave,

It was a popular modification among drag racers 30 years ago, but I think today it has gone out of vogue. Nothing in life is free, and I think the people who are smart about such things (which is not me) suggest that whatever improvements that are made at one end are offset by degradation at the other end. Plus I've heard of these external lines working their way free and spraying the engine bay down with oil which can easily result in a big fire.

I would seek alternative means to satisfy the 'problem'. Oiling restrictors are used on solid-lifter motors to alter the distribution of oil, with apparent success, but I believe they are deemed unnecessary for conventional or roller cam engines?
