[DeTomaso] FW: NPC - Troubleshooting OBDII "Lean Bank 2" Code

I have had similar issues with Porsche and Bmw , I make a smoke generator adapter  to hook to the throttle body and put .4 to 1 psi max of dense smoke into the intake . That allowed me to actually find a cracked sparkplug tube that was leaking vacuum  on 2 different boxsters .2 ways  I have used .  first is use a Gm diesel glow plug and a quart  paint can from home depot , a rubber pipe cap with hose clamp  sized to fit over the throttle body or  on the intake tube and some clear vinyl tube , ( look up smoke generator  leak detector on youtube  .  compressed air through a regulator is used to move the smoke . I used the smoke fluid from Halloween smoke generators instead of baby oil .The next thing I did was purchase a cheap smoke machine on ebay and machined a nozzle and  nipple for the clear tube to attaché to the output of the smoke machine (very hot  output nozzle on the machine ).Prop the throttle valve open  plug the pcv breather  if it is outside of the smoke loops the smoke will find a crack or leak in the pcv tubes . connect a 6 to 12 volt battery charger    onto the glow plug  and hook up the compressed air , or turn on the smoke machine  use a laser pointer and or a light and point it every where you can to look for smoke coming out  somewhere other than the exhaust tail pipe . that's  your leak.

Yup a vacuum leak. Spray the hoses with some WD40 to see if you hear a RPM
change. If this does not identify the location you can get it smoked,(no
were not in Colorado). It is a machine that pumps smoke into the motor and
hoses, when it is not running, to help you pinpoint the bad spot.

YouTube has videos on how to make a smoke machine (No not that kind again).
I have not made one yet, but it is on the project list.

Sounds like a vacuum leak.  I had a similar problem on my BMW.
