If you chose electric, the extension cord is critical (and even the voltage
tap for your home's transformer!)
I haven't replaced the one some A$% "borrowed".
I had two Germany made Karchers. The first was from Lowes, which I didn't
protect from freezing, then got a heavy model direct when I was searching
for replacement pump. I had problems with it "cycling" before it made full
pressure till I made a very heavy gauge extension cord Due to The voltage
drop caused by the high current.

Subject: [DeTomaso] NPC - QUALITY HOME PRESSURE WASHER???

All,

I am in the market for a pressure washer for use around my home.

I want one that will last, so that rules out the Harbor Freight offerings
and low end stuff at the box stores.

Leaning to an electric-powered unit, but somewhat open to gas-powered.

Electric offerings are far less common than the gasoline units.

Budget goal is no more than $600-$800

Made in USA is optimal.

Seeking collective wisdom on what to look for and purchase suggestions - or
purchases to avoid. ;-)

Thanks,

Larry
