[DeTomaso] Steering rack spacers

I understand early Pantera (including my '71) did not use spacers under the
steering rack while later cars came with those as standard.
They were added to reduce bump-steer, but is this because the cars ware
delivered with pretty high suspension setup?

Once you lower the car (I got Koni adjustable ride height, adjusted pretty
low) seems one would be better off without those spacers as steering control
arms actually seem straighter/more parallel to control arms?

Could someone confirm what is the opinion on using spacers or not on lowered
cars?
