[DeTomaso] Photo of stock luggage area

You are correct about the tubs, I have a total of three, one super early
version, a middle version with the inset and without any hold down
provision and the late version with the threaded receiver for a tire hold
down.
I came across an original spare tire after 10 years of seeking one out and
was perplexed that or did not fit into the recess, I had always thought it
went inside, not that it rested on top.
Now I want to know why, it seems an odd design choice.
