[DeTomaso] Tool Chests at Home Depot vs Harbor Freight

Are not all top boxes supposed to look like that?  After the first 30 days of ownership I thought the top lid hinges automatically locked in the open position.  Bud #3400 ( Drive it like there is no tomorrow -- for there may not be ! )

When I looked at the pictures of your Craftsman tool boxes I had to
laugh.  Looks just like mine, even down to the over loaded pile on the
top tray where you can't see what's on the bottom and don't even think
  about closing the lid!

Fwiw craftsman chests come in several different levels of quality. I
have a total of six toolboxes with ball bearing sliders and they have
served me extremely well for 20+ years:
Lori has some entry-level craftsman toolboxes and they are absolute
junk. The sliders have all failed and its a struggle to get some
drawers open even when they are practically empty.
If you plan to keep it for more than a year, spend the extra money and
  get the ball bearing sliders.
