I agree totally with Patrick Hals. Although I am no longer a POCA member*,
Michael Shortt is a doer who will approach this as a businessman *and* an
enthusiast. Time to move the club forward. The old management is past its
prime; it's time for new leadership.

*I am currently on the POCA Board of Directors but I have let my membership
lapse and am no longer a member. If things stay the way they are, I have no
intention of rejoining. I will still be a member of my local chapter, go to
the Fun Rally, etc, etc, but the POCA Board is disfunctional and I won't to
support them with my dues any longer.

Here's a good example, they have way over $100,000 in the treasury with
absolutely no plans of what to do with it other than to continue asking you
to pay $75 a year in dues. And they will have a surplus of more than $5,000
again this year. No web site, no online archive of all the institutional
knowledge captured in the old Newsletters, election fiasco after election
fiasco, etc, etc.

But they could start delivering the Newsletter by email - which is actually
a good thing *if they would actually do it.* Pretty much everything is in
place to do so but still no action. They are already doing it for
international members just not here. That will save the club about $20,000
per year which could and should be reflected in the dues we pay.

I've done the math and showed it to the Board, dues could be reduced by at
least $15 and even with that reduction, POCA would continue to show a
healthy yearly surplus once the Newsletter is actually sent out by email.

I'll consider rejoining when they do.

In the mean time, vote wisely.
