Asa Jay,
Thanks for the history. Good stuff. The email-list should ABSOLUTELY be left OPEN. Why? There is no
better way to show the world that the Pantera is well supported. I know I had concerns about where to
find educated people to help if I needed it. Not only did the existence of the list persuade me to buy my
Pantera, I have gotten excellent help from lots of smart people on this list. To those people… Thank You!!
IMO Keep it open an Free!

Hi Mikael,
This email list was started by Shane Ingate back in 1996 (or so)/and was open to all DeTomaso enthusiasts. No membership required, no dues and ownership was not a prerequisite. At the time, the email forum software was being hosted on a private server. It had zero association with POCA other than some POCA members were part of the list.
The server hosting and ownership changed a few times before the latest transfer. That latest transfer came about through an agreement with POCA that it could be hosted on the POCA server, but that the list itself remain open to anyone and everyone that wished to join and talk about DeTomaso automobiles AND that it never required membership in POCA.
It started as a non-POCA email list and it's supposed to remain that way.

Sitting following this from across the pond is both entertaining and a bit puzzling. When I read the candidates statements, e.g. making the brand better known, I'm thinking why? The definition of a club is that members pay money and get benefits that nonmembers don't get. Like magazines, forum/mail list, discounts, events, help and advice. So dear candidates, what will you work on that benefits ME, a paying member? I get most of what I listed above, but I can't buy apparel since we've moved away from cheques decades ago, and am I right in understanding that several non-members use this mail list? If they don't pay, they should be locked out. Members only.
Membership value should be optimized, that's any club management's first priority IMHO

Forest,
But did you get two of them, one for yourself and one for your associate? Or did your associate get one of her own? Or does the single survey afford the opportunity for both parties to vote on a single ballot?
I haven't been able to look at mine yet although I did receive it...just wondering what to expect.

Some members on list are reporting they have voted via a Survey Monkey
link they received which is pinned to their email address (thus cannot
be shared between voters).
Were the links mass mailed or being sent individually, I have received
nothing?
Thanks,
Julian

POCA Members: The expected start of the POCA Elections today was
flawed
due to a failure of the Ballot Bin website through which the Bylaws
Election
was conducted. The election will now be conducted using Survey Monkey.
You should receive an email from Survey Monkey in the next 24 hours to
electronically vote in the POCA Elections.
