[DeTomaso] did any of you guys buy the 72 off ebay for $40K?

No question about location of rust spots in the first shot, what/where is the second shot?

I agree. They have no idea. When I noticed some surface rust on the doors I stripped my Pantera down
(except the windshield and tail-lights) and drove it to Coachwork's here in San Diego. They stripped it down
to the bare metal and here is what we saw.

Hopefully the attachments will come thru.

2 weekends to tear it down. 3 months to put it all back together. I'm not fast. ;-)

Yes, if you looked closely at some of those rust pictures I think Ken was right. Somebody has their work cut out for them.
It does seem the Pantera is now on the radar of the new wave of car spinners. A quick bondo and paint job and back to eBay for a few thousand more and an unsuspecting buyer gets a bucket of problems.

It¹s a stretch to say anyone ³stole" that car at $40K. There are multiple
small rust issues, and it looks mostly neglected, so all of the usual
stuff is going to be bad - wheel bearings, steering rack, window gears,
fuse box, ball joints, brakes, clutch slave, and so on. It reminds me of
everything I¹ve corrected with my car.

Michael - I don¹t mean to call you out, but when someone says they stole a
car, it suggests they got it for way below the value. That is not a $60K
car, and $80-100K for that car would be stupid money.

This one has a buy-it-now of $45,900, and it¹s in much better shape.

So, I would say that $40K is about right in today¹s market.

Like everyone else, I¹ve noticed prices rising, though. I wouldn¹t call
it skyrocketing. I would call it an upward trend, with an occasional bump
when the Pantera is in the press (Leno, Ring Brothers, My Ride Rules).
