[DeTomaso] Stock A/C recharge - anyone try Red Tek 12a ?

Read the Ford Manual. The bottom line is the pressure gauge on the ac fill
hoses. You do not want to overfill your system.
Stick with r-12. If you want to update your system you need to change your
dryer and all your hoses. Even though propane is supposed to work if (god
forbid) you used Propane in your car and some event caused a fire you
could be subject to civil and criminal penalties and your insurance might
disallow any claims brought by you or the other driver. This is an example
of "penny wise and pound foolish" Do what you want but why ask for advice
on a subject that is clearly marked as illegal (DOT , EPA) both prohibit
the use of propane in ac systems in the USA. Why risk the value of your
car and the risk of losing a major lawsuit to save a few dollars to use
something that clearly has the potential to be very dangerous.unapproved

This information was found on the net so take it with a grain of salt. I
just believe it's just a better idea to avoid breaking the law when ever
possible especially when the only motivation is to save a few dollars!
