[DeTomaso] NPC: Best microSD card for GoPro

Generally speaking, the greater the card's "thruput," the less chance of the camera's buffer memory will fill or "clog" while writing to the memory card.

Think of it like the water pipe in your home: the smaller the pipe, the less water that can flow to the faucet. Install bigger pipes, and you get more flow.

Sandisk, and Lexar are two of the best brands out there. For shooting video or Hires stills, I usually recommend Class 10 cards, with a minimum write speed of 70 MB/s.

As an aside, with cameras gaining megapixels like Santa on Christmas Eve (like the Canon's 50MP 5Ds), faster cards (120-160MB/s) are a must, to keep up with the large file transfers. Otherwise, you're basically water boarding slower cards with an abundance of image data, and missing shots in the process.

Mahalo,

Scott
