[DeTomaso] NPC: VMWare

Asa Jay,

I very much appreciate the time and effort you put into it.

Our Space City website is nothing compared to the POCA site and I have spent hours and hours cleaning it up and making it work.
There’s a lot of stuff in ours that has been there since Dave Bell started it many years ago.

There’s a bunch of stuff that still needs cleaning up, but I’ve not been motivated recently.

It’s been hacked once, too….

FWIW,
Kirby

Yes, a few things still don't work and it may not be as "flashy" as you like; but you now, after spending 40 hours of my vacation time working on it.... I'm a bit tired of working on it.

OJT, we didn't have anyone to call; we had to learn how it was built, how to maintain it, etc. POCA doesn't need another "manager" of the site, or "technology," they need someone who can actually get their hands dirty; know how to make changes, not be afraid of screwing up and changing things back quickly.

That one thing along should tell you that I can't do it alone, that Mark can't do it alone, that it's either a team effort or POCA will have to pay thousands of dollars (and we're not talking four digit thousands here), to build and maintain something new.

I personally didn't know this was a project until someone told me POCA was paying for a new web site months ago, at which point I asked what they were asking the new development team to do. And I subsequently pointed out the present web site will already do 92% of it, if someone had the time to work it.
