[DeTomaso] 351C Piston Needed

It was the first one milled.  I mistakenly went beyond my intended 
stopping point by 50/1000 and left about 110/1000 thickness at the 
piston dome's thinnest point. I was apprised that was potentially too 
little meat to run the piston safely.  Frankly, 100/1000, my intended 
target, didn't remove much, a bit off on of the domes.

I remember Randy Gillis at JE schooling me on required piston dome 
thickness when I originally had him build pistons for my 408.  As you 
may recall, Randy built one of the first 408s and lost it when his crank 
cracked and his thin piston dome cracked.  Both were problem areas 
initially with the 408's as an attempt was made to lower compression 
ratios created by the longer stroke.  At least that was the piston 
issue.  The crank problem was offset ground cast 400 cranks that were 
not up to the task.

Anyway, I can't recall the minimum required dome thickness Randy 
determined that was needed. However, I am told by another that I went to 
thin.
