The Soviet's equivalent to Von Braun was Sergei Korolev and he wasn't
German. The Soviets didn't trust their German rocket engineers and kept
them segregated on an island without access to the classified rocket
technology being developed by their Russian counterparts. They ended
shipping them back to Germany in the early 1950s.
