>>>You either have Amsoil, or Redline oil. They are two different brands.
I would steer clear of either of those two synthetics and other 'gimmick'
oils, especially those without "NS" additives, as they prevent the gearbox
from shifting as well as it should. I've heard both good and bad things
about experimenting with different kinds of synthetic gearbox oils, and most of
the Pantera ZF rebuilders I know take the conservative call and vote against
them.
In this case, I think you should just stick with the ZF manufacturer
recommendation and use a good, ordinary 80-90 GL5 oil. I chose CRC/Stalube
because it comes in 1-gallon jugs, which makes it extremely easy to fill when you
have a gear oil pump (which attaches simply to the jug) but Valvoline
apparently makes a good GL5 lube as well, in the more conventional (smaller)
containers.

And once again, GREAT KUDOS to you for your willingness to DRIVE your
Pantera great distances to the Fun Rally! Yours is an example for all to
follow! Looking forward to seeing you there!
Mike
P.S. The Red Line factory is literally right around the corner from
Lori's house, in Benicia, CA.
P.P.S Red Line makes a FANTASTIC funnel:

If you cut the last little bit off, you can use it to fill your
(repositioned) water bottles without removing the engine screen or cover; it also works
wonderfully to add oil to the engine. If the fiberglass trunk tray is
left in position, the big end of the funnel nestles perfectly between the trunk
tray and the decklid shock, making for one-handed filling.
Red Line donated a bunch of these to PCNC one year and I was lucky enough
to win a couple....
