For aluminum castings, I like to degrease them with Braklean aerosol
de-greaser then glass bead blast, followed by a spray coat of VHT Nu-Cast
spray paint. The paint gives it a very uinform appearance and seals the
porosity of the cast surface so that once it's put into use, any grease and
oil can be wiped up.

Subject: [DeTomaso] Aluminium intake manifold treatment

What is the best way to refurbish an aluminium air intake manifold?
It has some dark stains due to age and yellowing because of previous fuel
leaks.
Is media blasting a good solution?
What type of media?
Should it be clear coated or treated in any way afterwards to make the fresh
appearance last longer? Thanks!
Cheers Bjoern
