Rob,

Do you have personal experience with the Secretaudio unit?
http://www.casmfg.com/Secretaudio.htm I read the specs and was very
interested.

Then I read the reviews and I was suddenly not so interested anymore.

If you want something with a small/no dash footprint, look up 'secret
audio'. You will need to find a place to mount the unit but the display
is small and remote controlled.

	Thx.

What I really want, though, is one that is smaller, like a 1/4
DIN (if such a thing exists). A full DIN is okay, but it feels like a
retrofit thing. I want one that was made for an iPod/iPhone.

I saw one at a shop I used to use in Dallas, but I didn't get
the brand name.

I've also thought it would be cool to mount a mini iPad in the
dash. That's going the other way - from smaller to bigger, but what I
really want is something that looks like it was designed to work with
the iPod/iPhone/iPad products, as opposed to a retrofit.

	Will,

All you need is a receiver that supports Bluetooth, which I have
in all of my vehicles. I have a Pioneer DEH-X6500BT in two of my
vehicles including my Pantera.

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-X6500BT

Anything you hear on your headphones on your iPhone will come
out on the vehicles speakers via Bluetooth to the receiver (when
headphones are not plugged in). This works with any phone that supports
Bluetooth like Android phones.

The other plus is that a microphone is included that can be
mounted on the sun-visor to make hands-free phone calls. It works better
than I thought it would in a Pantera.

	Cheers,

	Denny

I'd like one that is smaller. If I don¹t need a 2.4" by
5.1" "receiver",
I'd rather not take up that much real estate.

Being only 4" deep is nice. Being 1" by 4" would be
better.

I'd also like it to work with an iPhone. I drove from
Houston to Miami
with my phone in the charger, tunes playing, and
headphones on. I had the
map application running, so it would dim music, give
directions when
appropriate, and bring the volume back to normal. Why
can't I do that
		over the speakers?

BTW, I'm talking about not just a Pantera stereo (where
I prefer engine
noise). I'm talking about the other cars.
