[DeTomaso] Techno Question: Bung placement on headers for A/F sensor

FWIW, an O2 sensor needs to operate at 550 degrees F or more. Most guys use the collector because it runs at about the right temp and is convenient to measure a composite of all 4 cylinders. Some add a bung on both collectors. Others add a bung 4" away from each header flange and run multiple sensors with a data logger. All that matters is getting the sensor to its light-off temp even if its a self-powered type. If you have two bungs and only one sensor, the thread is the same as a spark plug which makes a cheap hole plug. Use antifriction grease.
