[DeTomaso] Dumb Techno Question: Charcoal Cannister ?

I pulled mine out last year during all the engine prep for SSCC.  I now have  
the vent line routed to a rollover valve above the tank.  The space where  
the charcoal canister was will be repuposed for a modified cooling system  
eventually.

Dear Forum,

      I still have a disconnected charcoal canister for the original 
fuel system venting (?).   It has been disconnected for about twenty 
years.  Is there any reason not to pull it out?  I think that Jack 
DeRyke discussed this a while back, but as usual I was sleeping in the 
back of class.
