NASCAR is the World Wrestling Foundation of motorsports. Among other
things, in an attempt to limit speeds, they force the teams to run restrictor
plates between the carb and intake manifold which seriously chokes down the
engine and restricts horsepower. All the cars are therefore almost perfectly
matched, meaning that the only way to get anywhere is to draft. So it
forces the cars to run in these great big packs, inches apart, and when one guy
bobbles, catastrophe results.
I refuse to watch NASCAR as a matter of principle.
