[DeTomaso] Slave Cylinder

If the noise is only present with the clutch depressed, in gear and car stationary, then it can not possibly be a trans problem as everything in the trans is stationary.

Pilot bearing, throw out bearing or clutch would be my guess.

When I bought my car I occasionally had a scraping sound that went away when I depressed the clutch. That turned out to be the outer ring of the balancer that had slid backwards until it hit the front edge of the oil pan.
