One other possibility is when one only swaps the clutch master cylinder. 
The master and slave wear out more-or-less as a pair, so replacing one 
sometimes causes a marginal second assembly to suck air past its single seal in 
operation. So if you do find no other possibilty and replace the slave, I 
suggest a long-throw slave cylinder, to also save whats left of the ZF synchros. 
They are available in stainless, use better than stock seals and are 
rebuildable. Good luck- JDeryke
