[DeTomaso] Clutch master swap out

Thinking of all the time spent analyzing and the risk of getting stranded
somewhere, plus if your clutch doesn't disengage properly it can cost your
syncros in the ZF. Compare that to the cost of a new master and slave and
braided line instead of plastic? Better change it all.

Every master/slave I've bought has been from Roland, detomaso.de, he stocks
the not too cheap but best quality items, stock IDs etc, IIRC they are made
in Italy.

IMHO a long throw is not necessary if everything works as designed. That
said, I've never driven a Pantera with a long throw slave, are they
noticeably harder to push down? Is it a real nuisance or does one get used
to it quickly?

One other possibility is when one only swaps the clutch master cylinder.
The master and slave wear out more-or-less as a pair, so replacing one
sometimes causes a marginal second assembly to suck air past its single seal
in operation. So if you do find no other possibilty and replace the slave, I
suggest a long-throw slave cylinder, to also save whats left of the ZF
synchros.
They are available in stainless, use better than stock seals and are
rebuildable. Good luck- JDeryke
