[DeTomaso] Paint schemes

When John Taphorn first showed me his car that he has taken down to metal, I asked how are you going to paint it?  After  he told me, I said why don't you paint it some really stand-out color/combination. ..............................................................     Panteras, for all the different ways that the owners have changed them, have the same basic paint design:  other than a couple of race cars, they have one solid color and you can name them on the fingers of one hand!  What's up with that?  ------------       .............................................................................................................................................................................Where's all the creativity!  Corvettes, with all their mentality of "still has the original (fill in the blank)" have a lot of nice creative color schemes.    ------    I've mentioned that I have thought of having stylized Panthers applied to my car, and I get "snickers" and "ahem's!"  Maybe it's an Italian thing!     ---------------   ..........................I'm really glad this subject came up.    It seems that most Pantera dudes are mechanical minded, but a little color creativity is OK, also!!!     ----Bill
