[DeTomaso] NPC: F1

We were on Turn 11 right in front of the hairpin there. You can see
quite a bit of the track from there!
Turn 12 was out of sight, but we'd see them come down the hill from 9
and 10, go around 11 and then watch them on the back 'straight' until
they'd go over the hill into 12.

Probably the most entertaining race was the Saturday Ferrari Challenge.
Those guys were bumping and pushing and beating their 458's up big
time, much to the delight of the crowd.
I don't know if you heard the announcer prior to the Sunday race... He
said the track marshal had a talk with the boys after the Saturday
race.
:-)
Sure enough, they were much more 'gentlemanly' on Sunday.

There was quite a bit of passing on Turn 11 with the other cars, but I
didn't see them try it much in the F1 race.

And yes, I agree. The organizers did a great job with the event. We
stayed in Bastrop and had very little traffic issues.
They were REALLY strict about which way you went though. Lots of
police directing traffic and making you go 'the right way'.
However, we did tailgate after the race and toasted everyone as they
waited in line in the parking lot while trying to get out. We drank
some beer and and wine and cooked up some burgers and sausage and had
a great time. Lots of folks had the same idea.
Still got back home by 8PM last night.

Again, great weekend! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Weather was excellent.
We need to organize something if they'll let clubs on the track. I'd
like to get the GT40 out there.
:-)
