[DeTomaso] refinishing the front trunk, grade and thickness of felt?

Ken, I built myself a new computer workstation last year and used marine
carpet to cover it instead of painting or staining it. It turned out really
nice. The fabric is easy to work with and easy to form, for the front trunk
application, I would do three pieces, front to back as one big piece and
each side separately, to make it look finished, have the edges bound at an
upholstery shop.  I'll send you a photo of the desk.
