>>>By coincidence, I've got a set of new Pre-L bumpers for a Pantera L
passing through my hands today on the way to an owner in Germany, sourced from
Precision Proformance. They're really nicely made, and amazingly
inexpensive--less than half the cost of their stock counterparts. They're
powdercoated black. (The front bumpers are technically Euro L bumperettes--they are
designed to replace the one-piece bumper, and have no provisions for turn
signal mounting).

The kit came with new gaskets, which are made of rubber, as opposed to the
hard plastic originals. I happen to have a single original gasket, and
fired up the camera for a side-by-side comparison.

Original on the left, repro on the right. They seem to be pretty darn
close, especially when installed on a bumper. The only downside is that the
rubber doesn't shrink when you wrap it around a sharp edge, so some trimming
might be required for a good fit.

In any case, it seems to be a very viable substitute for the original
stuff--very subtle and unobtrusive.

Cheers!

Mike
