Just hit the 'easy' button.
Fluidyne radiators are all the rage, but you know firsthand that they go
bad and Fluidyne doesn't stand behind them. I wouldn't put one on a shopping
cart, for that reason.
Hall Pantera still sells old-school heavy-duty brass radiators. Not the
crazy-thick Phoenix model, or the lay-forward 45-degree gimmick model; the
standard replacement radiator drops right in and works like a champ, and it
can be repaired easily and cheaply in the future.
Just got home from spending the day at Sears Point. With this radiator
and Meriah pusher fans, my 408 stroker runs right at 180 degrees going down
the freeway; the second radiator fan doesn't turn on (actually I verified that
neither fan is on at freeway speeds). Even sitting in bumper-to-bumper
traffic on a mid-80s day, the temps never got over about 210.
And it's 20 years old.
Two thumbs up!
Mike
