[DeTomaso] Comparison: 1971 DeTomasso Pantera vs. 2008 BMW 135i

A more realistic comparo for these writers would have been a narrow-body 
'81 Pantera GTS or Gr-3 and an '80s BMW M-1; at least they're in the same 
sales price, same mfg decade and market segment. Or maybe they did such a 
comparo and the results didn't turn out well....? 
In a One Lap of America event some decades ago, a Pantera and an M-1 went 
head to head, with the M-1 winning by a narrow margin after blowing an engine 
during one segment and having a new one installed overnight, at unknown but 
undoubtably substantial cost. The Pantera drove to & from (Paul McCarty- 
Texas based?) while the M-1 was trailered both ways.
