[DeTomaso] Rusty French--trying hard!

Hi guys,

Rusty French is an Australian who purchased one of the original 14 Gr4 
Panteras back in 1975, directly from the factory.   He raced it for a few years 
before moving on to Porsche 935s, which he has since raced with great 
success.   (He ships a pair of identical 935s to Monterey each year in a 40-foot 
shipping container, then kicks everybody's butts in the feature race--he has 
won it either two or three years in a row now).

The Gr4 Pantera was retired from racing due to its value, but he couldn't 
rid himself of the Pantera bug, and after a couple of other Aussies started 
racing Euro GTS Panteras successfully, he recently bought BOTH of them, 
repainted them in his trademark black/gold colors, and is now racing them 
himself.

He absolutely kicked ass at the Sandown Historic Festival recently, winning 
all three of his races outright.   His driving style is best described as

until the checkered flag drops.   This photo does a great job of

The expression on his face gives indication that he may have realized he 
was pushing just a bit TOO hard! :>)
