[DeTomaso] 1st GoPro Vid

I got a GoPro Hero 2 for Christmas. The motorsports edition.
http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero2-motorsports-edition/

I mounted it in two places on the GT40 to experiment with it.
First place that I thought would be cool was on the back glass. You know...
see the dash, the driver messing up the shift, etc.
The trouble with that is the lens of the GoPro is pretty wide angle. So you
see most of the car interior, but not much else.....

Next step was to mount it on the windshield just behind the rear view
mirror.
This is much better and the only downside is that when you start to spin
and madly try to catch the spin, you hit the camera and it points to the
sky and you spin anyway...
How do I know? Drive poorly, do a crappy downshift and....
'Spin with John' - http://www.spacecitypanteras.com/styled-9/styled-49/

The sound came out pretty good. You can hear us talking, you can hear the
engine as it is inside the car, you can hear me swearing... you can just
see the speedometer if the light is right.
All in all, I think it is OK.

At the same event, some of the Lambo guys were mounting the GoPro right on
top of the car.
The 49th picture down (hah!) shows a car with it mounted just at the top of
the windshield sticking up higher than the car. I do not know how well this
works, but you'd definitely have to use the wind shield with the camera, I
would think. Otherwise the wind noise would be terrible. Again, just
guessing.

I use a Mac and it was easy getting the video loaded and edited. It wasn't
a big deal with iMovie, but I did not do a lot to the movie. Just chopped
the beginning and end a little. I plan to learn to do more once some of
those 'roundtuits' come in next week, if ever.

Regards,
Kirby
