You say it was perfect before, but not now.   Rather than just blindly 
throwing it away and trying to start over, why not actually figure out what went 
wrong?   It could be something simple--a piece of crud stuck in a 
needle/seat or something like that.

Do you have a fuel filter?   Panteras came, for reasons nobody has ever 
successfully explained, with no fuel filter from the factory.   Installing one 
is a no-brainer, and could easily explain the cause of your problem, if in 
fact it's just debris in the carb.

I say, investigate.
