[DeTomaso] gas tank float switch

Dear Richard,

Ach du Lieber! That is the problem that I am having.

I have a new gas tank sender and pick up modified after
purchase for a larger gas line that was installed and didn't work. I found
that the float was hitting the side of the tank. I tweaked it and it had
full range of motion within the tank. Then, once "fixed" it does "work",
but all the readings are lower than normal. So, which way do you bend the
float arm to approach a correct reading?

                    Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

Boyd,i believe that the other vendors get them from Wilkinson so i doubt
anyone else would be cheaper. For what it is worth i have installed a few of
these new ones and the float arm has needed to be adjusted(bent) to get a
closer to accurate reading. All the ones i have installed had initially read
less fuel than was really in the tank.So adjust it before putting all the
screws and the side window back in.And yes i know the fuel tank is not
square so you need to adjust for that as well.
