[DeTomaso]   CHI 3v 225

Sean,

Originally that was to be a Weber manifold with 48 IDA's, however that particular engine rebuild has taken a back seat after I purchased a wild 393 stroker motor for the '74 Pantera with A3 heads. I will likely use the CHI heads on the GT5 in combination with 48 IDF's on an Aussie Speed (Cain reproduction) manifold. With that setup there is no need to cut the decklid as the lower IDF's on the Cain manifold will clear the engine screen. According to Mark at AussieSpeed the manifold has enough material to be used on 2V, 3V or 4V heads.

Julian what intake are you using on your CHI 4v?
I'm not locked into any particular engine combo at this point.
I asked my engine builder to suggest something for a 408 to replace my stock 351.
Wish list is good HP but streetable with reliability running on 92oct pump gas.
He sells all kinds of heads but likes to build Clevelands with CHI's.
Builder says he likes a short block with 408 Scat Forged Crank and Scat I beam rods with Mahle dish pistons $2860
He's going to charge me $2450 for built up CHI 3v heads with Ferrea valves and Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum Rockers.
Based on what Dan said I think my builder is talking about a first version Scott Cook dual plane.
If this combo for sure wont fit under my 72L engine screen then I will probably switch to the CHI 4v.

Sean

I went with the 4V choice for much the same reasons of intake choices. In terms of flow you only give up 5-7cfm at 0.6 lift with the 4V over the 3V, not sure if that equates to 50HP even.
