Yes- although thats a more expensive type; a stock Ford e-coil repackaged
in an aluminum heat-sink and given a fancy name. A nice heat sink is a good
idea, though- they get pretty hot. It's just that they don't fail from
overheat rupturing the insulating case, lose oil so the windings short, but it IS
possible to fail an e-coil, too. Stock GM HEI's also use e-coils and some
are remote-mounted rather than the built-in-the-cap types. You should try to
match the coil outputs to whatever ignition you're using, just as you do with
can-of-oil coils, too. Good luck- J Deryke
