I will admit to having to look up the good doctor's word.... Have seen it,
but never bothered to know.

Vignettes.... and written by 'The Pope', no less....

In theatrical <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatrical>
script<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Play_%28theatre%29>writing, sketch
stories <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sketch_story>, and
poetry<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poetry>,
a *vignette* is a short impressionistic scene that focuses on one moment or
gives a trenchant impression about a character, an idea, or a setting and
sometimes an object. This type of scene is more common in recent postmodern
theater <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postmodern_theater>, where less
emphasis is placed on adhering to the conventions of theatrical structure
and story development. Vignettes have been particularly influenced by
contemporary notions of a scene as shown in film, video and television
scripting.

:-))

Ah, yes.... Monday morning.
