[DeTomaso] Next question - best oilpan gasket

With the engine out of the car its a breeze compared to trying to maneuvere a 9qt pan up there on your back.
 
I don't touch cork gaskets anymore, the composite or rubber coated-fiber by FelPro, Milodon or Mr Gasket are all pretty equal IMO. Personally I would not feel comfortable using only RTV or equivalent on the rails, I use the Mike Drew/JT approved method with great success.
