[DeTomaso] Judy McCartney Medical Update

For those on the forum who don't know, Judy asked me to bring you up to date on her medical condition.  Judy has been under treatment for a return of her cancer.  She was scheduled to under go a series of tests after the Fun Rally to see if her cancer had returned.  She  previously lost one kidney to cancer and had the remaining kidney shaved to remove the cancer from it.

During the tests it was found that the cancer had returned and was in her remaining kidney.  That was then treated, with Judy losing about one third of her remaining kidney, which then stopped working.  The doctors hoped that it was shock but Judy had to be put on dialysis.  

Fortunately, her kidney has apparently come back so Judy is hoping to be able to go off of dialysis.  Unfortunately, Judy is also suffering internal bleeding that her doctors have yet to determine the source of, so Judy was put back in the hospital for more tests and more blood.  

The reason for telling you this is that since before the Fun Rally, Judy has not been able to keep up with her work as POCA membership chairman.  So if your renewals don't get processed in a timely manner, or new members processed as fast as they normally would, or the chapter rebate checks don't get processed, just remember that there are solid reasons for that and that Judy will get caught up once her medical condition stabilizes.

Please know that there is much more to Judy's condition that I am going into here.  Obviously her situation is bad, but Judy is getting the best of care and should pull through just fine.  

It will just take time. 

Judy can take phone calls on her cell and welcomes them as she is bored out of her mind in the hospital.  I don't know when she will be released, and even when she is her strength will take awhile to return, so bear with her.
